Soft-Tissue Injuries
Soft tissues such as muscles, tendons, and ligaments may be injured during sports, manual labour or any physical activities. Sprains, strains, contusions, tendonitis and bursitis are common types of soft tissue injuries. These injuries may occur acutely due to sudden, severe trauma or because of repetitive movements. The first line of treatment would be conservative therapy in the form of rest, ice, compression and elevation (R.I.C.E. protocol). If the injury is not resolved with this approach, more invasive treatments may be necessary.
